Concrete Repair

Reinforced concrete is a durable and versatile construction material, however if poorly constructed or unprotected, can over time, deteriorate through steel corrosion, leading to costly problems if left untreated.

Vertitech Australia has extensive experience in the repair of concrete structures over many years, utilizing the latest technology in terms of equipment and materials.

Crack Injection / Repair

Cracking in concrete can occur due to inadequate curing, overloading or reinforcement corrosion.

Without intervention, cracking can lead to serious issues in terms of durability and structural integrity.

Vertitech Australia can offer a range of injection systems and products, depending on the nature of the cracking and the type of concrete element, including

  • Epoxy resin injection for structural repairs where load carrying capacity has been compromised – the bond strength of the epoxy resin is greater than the inherent tensile strength of the parent concrete
  • Polyurethane resin injection for active cracks or for leaking cracks
  • Routing and sealing (surface repair) with flexible polyurethanes and silicons, enabling movement across the joint and preventing moisture ingress

Cathodic Protection

The installation of a cathodic protection system or the inclusion of sacrificial anodes in to a patch repair can enhance the effectiveness of a remediation programme.

Vertitech Australia has many years experience in the installation of:

  • Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) systems, which are mainly used to protect marine structures. Design life 30 years +.
  • Hybrid CP systems, where a small current is passed through the structure at isolated locations, for a period of 1-3 weeks. Design life 10-15 years.
  • Sacrificial anodes in to patch repairs. Design life approx. 5 years.

Masonry Repairs

Brick, block and stonework can suffer degradation due to poor construction practices, instability and exposure to the environment.

Vertitech Australia has the capabilities to provide a variety of remedial solutions to problems in masonry elements, including:

  • Crack stitching and wall pinning / tying
  • Repointing
  • Provision of new expansion joints
  • Reconstruction
