University of Melbourne Old Geology Building Rehabilitation (Heritage)

The Challenge

The façade of the heritage listed building, constructed in 1927, had suffered the effects of exposure to the elements for almost 90 years.

The concrete, render and brickwork elements had weathered to the point that the appearance of this attractive building had been compromised.

The Solution

Vertitech Australia’s team of skilled technicians and specialist subcontractors were engaged to restore the facades to their former glory, utilizing traditional building materials and methods.

Intricate render mouldings were re run and face brickwork repointed.

The result is building that is a reminder of architectural styles of the past and evidence that the skills of master tradesman have not been lost.
